It’s Easy !

1. Take photos with your smartphone at Lee Tartt Nature Preserve.

2. Select your favorite shots.  You may submit 5 total: one per category or multiple in the categories of your choice.  KT Lumber will donate $0.50 to Friends of Chakchiuma Swamp for each photo submitted.

CATEGORIES

*NOTE: ALL photos MUST be from Lee Tartt Nature Preserve

I. COLOR 

image should be 60% or greater a single color range (ex. reds, blues, browns, etc.)

II. HAND + NATURAL SUBJECT

image should show only hand interacting with natural subject

III. TREE TRUNK

image should focus on a parts or the whole of a single tree

IV. FACE + LEAF

image could show all or partial subject

RULES & REGULATIONS

open to all ages

must use a smartphone for image capture

images must be from Lee Tartt Nature Preserve

FOR FUN

3 photos from each category will be selected based on skill, composition and creative interpretation.

Photographers of selected photos will be recognized at Afterglow Film Festival with photos included in “The Color of Conservation” presentation by Robin Whitfield displayed on the Friends of Chakchiuma Swamp Website and media outlets.

TIMELINE

  • Submission You may start submitting Saturday, Sept 28, 2019. The deadline to submit is midnight, Sunday, Oct 9, 2019.
  • Juror:  Jason Williams
  • Finalists and Winners Announced:  Oct 12 11:30 Afterglow Film Festival, Grenada, MS

Copyright

The photographer retains full copyright to his or her images. However, participation in the contest requires the contestant to give Friends of Chakchiuma Swamp (FCS) permission to use the photographs without compensation in print, on our website and other social media outlets.
