HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP!
We are looking for “Forest Friends” to help us secure the canopy of our bottomland forest with a conservation easement by raising funds equal to the value of the trees as timber – $270,000. It turns out that the average tree in our swamp is valued between $20 and $50 per ton. Most trees are 1 to 1.5 tons.
The City receives money, Friends of CSNA will secure the forest habitat and hundreds of people can have the pleasure of a tree friend with all of it’s other plant and animal associates!
We even have a matching donor for .50 on $1.00!!
It’s simple to participate!
1. Make a donation
CHECKS: FRIENDS OF CSNA PO BOX 2352 GRENADA, MS 38902
Your donation corresponds to one of our selected trees, based on it’s approximate timber value.
2. In return you will receive:
Details of your new relationship – the numbered tree will be connected with your name or to the name of your choosing. You will receive the number and location of your tree along with it’s bio.
We have 1,500 trees in the process of being measured, tagged.
Species that will be included: bald cypress, tupelo gum, yellow poplar, cherry bark oak, over cup oak, water oak, sweet gum, red maple, hickory and other mixed hardwoods.
3. Go visit your tree and stay a while!
This is a community project about all of us working together!
Our vision is to provide opportunities for all people to experience first hand the beauty of biodiversity in a healthy wetland habitat conveniently located 1/4 mile from town square.
Please help us show our city that this plan can work!
All donations are tax deductible, as the Friends of CSNA is part of the Grenada Community Foundation, a not for profit 501(c)3 organization.
